Two Palestinians killed in Israeli strike on Gaza borders

Israeli airstrike on Gaza borders with Egypt left two Palestinian workers dead on Thursday at dawn, Palestinian medical sources said.

Eyewitnesses said that an Israeli F16 fighter jet hit the entrance of a tunnel in the Egyptian side where the two Palestinians were working.

With the assistance of the Palestinian workers, Palestinian paramedics could evacuate the bodies of the two martyrs in the dark.

Palestinian medical sources identified the martyrs as Omar al-Soufi and Mohamed al-Aqraa and said they were found dead under the rubbles of the tunnel.

According to the Palestinian medical sources, five other Palestinian workers were wounded in the same airstrike.

The Palestinians use the tunnels with Egypt to smuggle the basic livelihoods as the Israeli occupation and Egypt have been imposing a strict siege on the Gaza Strip for more than 10 years.

As part of the siege, the Israeli occupation banned on Tuesday the entry of Nitrous Oxide, which is used in surgeries in the Gaza hospitals.

Due to the siege, Gaza has the highest unemployment and poverty rates in the entire world.
