UN: Israel wounded 62 Palestinians, abducted 205 in 10 days

Israeli occupation forces shot wounded 62 Palestinians and abducted 205 others in occupied West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza Strip in last ten days, UN report said.

In its follow up report about the humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that 23 children and two women were among the Palestinians wounded by the Israeli occupation forces.

According to the report, six of the injuries occurred in the Gaza Strip, during protests next to the perimeter fence, and the rest in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

The report said that 42 of the injuries were recorded during nine search and abduction operations carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in Biddu, Beit Surik, Silwan and Shu’fat refugee camp, in Jerusalem, Jalazun refugee camp and Al-Bireh, in Ramallah.

Overall, the report said, the Israeli occupation forces conducted 121 search and abduction operations across the occupied West Bank and abducted 205 Palestinians, including nine children.

Al-Khalil governorate accounted for the highest portion of operations, 36, and Jerusalem governorate accounted the highest number of arrests, 53.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, the Israeli occupation forces deployed at least 156 ‘flying’ ad-hoc checkpoints during the reporting period, more than double the bi-weekly average since the beginning of the year.

This, the UN report said, caused much trouble to the life of the Palestinian people across the occupied territories.
