Video: occupation demolishes Palestinian homes

Days of Palestine, Jerusalem/West Bank –Israeli occupation forces demolished on Wednesday two Palestinian homes; one in the holy the occupied city of Jerusalem, the other in the occupied West Bank of Al-Khalil.

The Palestinian house the Israeli occupation demolished in Jerusalem is under construction and it belongs to a Palestinian citizen in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.

Samir Nassar, owner of the building, said that Jerusalem municipality bulldozers stormed Silwan’s Wadi Qaddum area at 4am. They were escorted by a huge number of Israeli policemen. “They tore down the home without prior notice,” he said.

Nassar began the construction of his 300-square-metre home three months ago. The Israeli authorities claimed the house was being built without getting the needed licenses.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli occupation imposes strict restrictions on issuing construction permits for the Palestinians in the holy city of Jerusalem; however, they pay high taxes and construction fees. Meanwhile, it facilitates building measures for Jews.

In the village of Deer al-Asal in the West Bank city of Al-Khalil, the Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished the house of the Palestinian citizen Salem abu-Ayyash.

The 170-square-metre house is only 200 metre away from the Israeli Apartheid Wall. The Israeli occupation claimed that the house lies in the ‘C’ area, which is under Israeli security control.
