WATCH: GOP targets Cheney, Fauci and voting rights legislation

The monthslong feud between Rep. Liz Cheney and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy officially came to a head this week, as Republicans voted to oust her from her congressional leadership position. But it wasn’t just Cheney caught in the Republican crossfire: Anthony Fauci sparred with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), while Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell attacked voting rights legislation as more Republican states pass stricter voting laws across the country.

1. Cheney reacts to ousting from GOP leadership

After months of battling within the House GOP, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) has been booted from her leadership position. Through it all, Cheney has refused to back down, saying she will do everything in her power to ensure that former President Donald Trump remains out of the Oval Office.

2. Fauci and Paul spar over Covid-19, again

It’s not new to see National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci debating the validity of Covid-19 science with Republican lawmakers such as Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio). This week, Fauci’s sharp comments were leveled at Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who questioned Fauci during a Senate health committee hearing.
