Jewish group calls on Congress to make Holocaust education mandatory in US schools

BATTLE FOR WORLD / RT | July 7. 2019: The article highlights that the World Jewish Congress (WJC) is pushing US lawmakers to make Holocaust education mandatory in all schools and cited statistics from a 2018 poll revealing that half of millennials can’t name a single Nazi concentration camp.

The WJC started a petition calling on the US Congress to “make Holocaust education mandatory in every school in the United States,” and so far they have garnered 8,500 signatures. The petition emphasized the rise in antisemitism and warns that “the horrors of the Holocaust are fading from our collective memory, especially among millennials.”

Ex-CNN analyst: Major news outlets ‘Zionist orgs’

BATTLE FOR WORLD / JEWISH INSIDER | July 16, 2019: The article highlights that Former CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill claimed that news outlets like NBC and ABC were “Zionist organizations” that produced “Zionist content,” during a panel on Friday (July 12)  at the annual Netroots Nation summit held by progressive activists in Philadelphia.

Hill lost his job with CNN after calling for a “free Palestine from the river to the sea,” during an appearance at the United Nations. The statement by him was interpreted by many that’s pro-Israel as a call for the elimination of Israel, something Hill denied.

In a question from the audience, Hill responded: choices are faced by young journalists when they tell stories about Palestinians.

“They’re like, I want to work for Fox, or I want to work for ABC or NBC or whoever. I want to tell these stories,” said Hill. “You have to make choices about where you want to work. And if you work for a Zionist organization, you’re going to get Zionist content. And no matter how vigorous you are in the newsroom, there are going to be two, three, four, 17, or maybe one powerful person – not going to suggest a conspiracy – all news outlets have a point of a view. And if your point of view competes with the point of view of the institution, you’re going to have challenges.”

T-shirt sales at the panel summit drew condemnation from Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). In a statement to Jewish Insider, Greenblatt said “Zionism is nothing like white supremacy.
