15% decline in Internet costs

Iran’s Communications Regulatory Authority Committee has released further details on new Internet prices.

During a session held on Saturday night, the committee—headed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi—met to decide on a number of issues, including new Internet tariffs, Mehr News Agency reported.

The committee passed a number of enactments, one of which ruled that Iran’s Communications Infrastructure Company will, from now on, have to reduce the price of broadband Internet sold to Internet service providers by up to 30%.

ISPs in turn will have to reduce the price of Internet sold to users by 15%.

Details are yet to be released on when the new tariffs will come into effect.
