17K tons of vegetables exported to Russia

Financial Tribune- Some 17,000 tons of vegetables grown in Andimeshk County of southwestern Khuzestan Province worth close to $10 million have been exported to Russia since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21), the manager of Andimeshk Agricultural Jihad Organization, Hedayat Mousavi, said.

According to the official, the vegetables exported included lettuce, carrot, dill and parsley, IRNA reported.

“These crops are cultivated every year in more than 5,000 hectares of farms in Andimeshk,” he said, adding that over 4,000 people are directly and indirectly working in the field of vegetable production. Andimeshk annually produces 600,000 tons of crops, including wheat, rapeseed and field corn.
