(Scroll down for video) 20 people were arrested and charged with transferring alcohol to a minor after showing up to an underage party that was advertised on a popular free classified advertisement site, according to police reports in South Carolina.

The advertisement however, that was placed on Craigslist was part of an undercover police operation.
Party Goers arrived at an apartment in Greenville County, along with alcohol and were immediately handcuffed. The party, touted as a drinking party, was actually organized by the sheriff’s department.

Their mission was to remind adults that providing alcohol to minors is illegal and will be prosecuted.
The stage was set with loud music and empty bottles scattered around the place. However, the only alcohol there, was brought by the guests.

From 7:30 pm to 2:00 am, men came to the door, some alone and some with friends. Those without alcohol were not allowed to enter, but twenty men arrived with alcohol.

Once the party goer handed the 19-year-old some alcohol, they were arrested and charged with transferring alcohol to a minor.
The sheriff’s department posted the Craigslist advertisement a week before the party. Over 150 inquiries came in and while these people thought they were talking to a 19-year-old girl, hosting a party, was actually a Greenville County deputy.

Deputy Jeremy Younginer responded like a normal teenager and said the same thing to each caller, so she would not get her story mixed up. She worked 24 hours a day throughout the week, even answering texts and emails while she was with her family.

Sergeant Mike Decker was in charge of the operation. He said that the respondents were told that the party was not free and they had to bring alcohol.
“They knew that right up front that they were talking to an underage girl and they’ll transfer alcohol to a minor,” Decker said.

Before the party, Younginer said that about 80 people had intentions appear with alcohol. He said many backed away. In the end of the night the 20 arrests made it a successful event.
