2015: Two Million Immigrants in Germany

More than two million “immigrants” came to Germany last year, while “only” 860,000 left again, created a “net” immigration increase of 1.14 million, official statistics have revealed.

A government statement said that this was “the highest net immigration of foreigners ever recorded” in Germany’s history—but media pointed out that these figures do not yet even include all of last year’s “refugees.”

A statement from the Statistisches Bundesamt (the Federal Statistical Office) website said that the “year 2015 was characterized by unusually high immigration of foreigners to Germany.”

“Based on provisional results of a flash estimation of migration statistics, the Federal Statistical Office reports that the arrival of just under two million foreign people was registered by the end of 2015.

“At the same time, roughly 860,000 foreigners departed from Germany. Consequently, net migration of foreign people amounted to 1.14 million. This is the highest net immigration of foreigners ever recorded in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany,” the office noted.

The figure of 1.14 million “net” foreigners was determined by looking at “verified figures that had been available for the months of January to August 2015 and on estimated data on the migration of foreigners (arrivals and departures) for the months of September to December 2015.”

For this period, only the raw data has been counted, the statement continued, adding that the “differences between these counts and the verified monthly results have been modeled on the basis of previous months and, using this model, have been transferred to the months of September to December 2015.”

In other words, even this figure is an estimate.

The Focus news service pointed out to its readers not to let the “records fool you,” because, it said, “the real numbers are even higher.”

Focus said that the statisticians had assumed that “not all asylum seekers could be promptly detected by the registration authorities,” and that the figures were therefore “still rising.”

In 2014, some 1.343 million foreigners entered Germany, but some 766,000 left once again, meaning that the residential population in that year alone jumped by 577,000 foreigners.

Combined with the new influx, this means that the foreigner population of Germany has increased by at least 1.7 million in two years.

The Frankfurter Rundschau reported that there are now 9.11 million registered foreigners in Germany, a figure which has increased by almost 12 percent compared to 2014.

* The Statistical Office also reported that as of 2014—that is, before the current influx of nonwhite invaders posing as refugees, some 20 percent of Germany’s population was made up of people with a “migrant background.”
