265 students were suspended from school after they were wearing skirts that were deemed too short, according to school officials.
The principal of the school in the eastern Caribbean island of Barbados has suspended 265 students for what it said were violations of school uniforms.
Matthew Farley issued letters of suspension after he and other teachers inspected Sealy High School this week. Students have been suspended for up to five days.
Farley’s decision angered dozens of parents who came to the school on Tuesday, prompting officials
to call the police.
Among the violations listed are too short skirts and pants that were too baggy.
The school has a total of 942 students and the students are required to wear white shirts and red pants or skirts. One parent told YourJewishNews.com that it seems like the school teachers just want a five day vacation from work.
“If they do not like to teach then they should quit,” the parent said.
