A man was severely beaten after confronting several men who were destroying a Romney Ryan campaign sign, according to reports.
A Wisconsin state senator says his adult son was attacked in the early hours of Friday morning by two men after he confronted them, as they vandalized a Romney-Ryan sign outside his house.
State Senator Neal Kedzie says his son, Sean, was knocked down by two individuals and struck several times in the head and face. A neighbor heard the commotion and managed to scare the attackers away, according to a statement from the office
of state senator.
Kedzie said that Sean was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was treated for multiple bruises on his face, the statement said. Sean was discharged from the hospital the same day.
The Whitewater Police Department described the suspects as two white males, both about 6 feet tall. The incident is under investigation.
Police urge those with information to come forward.
There was no comment on the incident from the Obama or Romney campaigns.
