(Scroll down for video) A Jewish woman who was visiting Thailand with her boyfriend, was brutally beaten and raped on the side of the road.

The father of the rape victim is outraged after the admitted perpetrator in the case remains free, according to press reports. The father of the rape victim has recorded and uploaded to the internet a video called ‘The Evil Man from Krabi’, about the case in order to draw international attention to the case, according to press reports.

It all happened on the night of July 27, the Dutch model celebrated her 19th birthday at a bar in Ao Nang, Krabi. Her boyfriend retired to the guest house at dawn, according to statements, while the girl continued celebrating in the bar. She was later offered a ride back to her guesthouse by a Thai tour guide on his motorcycle.

She realized they were traveling the wrong way and demanded that the driver let her off. Instead, she was allegedly beaten by the side of the road and raped. She was later found by Thai locals and taken to Krabi Hospital, where she was treated for serious injuries.

Hospital staff first thought that she had been in a motorcycle accident. Some time after the incident police filed charges in the case and identified her attacker as Chumpon Khaonuang. The victim returned to the Netherlands. The evidence in the case include CCTV footage from

the bar, DNA evidence and the confession of the suspect to the police.

Three days after the incident the rape suspect’s sister offered compensation to the family of the victim in order not to press charges. The suspect was not detained by police until September 20, and only briefly before being released later in the day. The retraction of the confession and the decision to fight the charges meant he could be released by the Krabi Provincial Court on bail pending a verdict in the trial, expected to take up to an additonal two years.
