Iraqi interior ministry officials said 22 people were killed and several others injured in shootings and bomb attacks in several neighborhoods of Baghdad on Thursday.
The attacks across the capital were carried out between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. local time (0300 and 0500 GMT).
Meanwhile, Iraqi police officials in the eastern province of Diyala said on Thursday seven people were killed and several others wounded in similar attacks in the provincial capital of Baqouba, about 63 kilometers (40 miles) north of Baghdad and the town of Dujail.
In the northern province of Salahuddin, eight people were killed and 56 others were injured in similar attacks in several towns of the province on Thursday, according to a medical source.
Police officials in the central province of Babil said one person was killed and five others wounded in a car bombing in the provincial capital of Hillah at about 8:15 a.m. local time (0515 GMT) on Thursday.
The Thursday shootings and bombings in Iraq were conducted a few days after Iraqi security officials said 22 people were killed and several others injured in similar attacks in Baghdad and the cities of Baqouba and Samarra on February 19.
