4-year-old bitten by crocodile in southern Israel suffers serious arm injury

A four-year-old boy was hospitalized with a serious arm injury on Saturday after he was bitten by a crocodile at a farm for the reptiles in the south of the country.

The incident occurred at the Crocoloco crocodile farm at Ir Ovot in the Arava Desert, Channel 12 news reported.

There were no details given as to how the child was so close to the dangerous reptile.

According to Channel 13 news, workers at the farm said the child had reached into an enclosure and his injuries were caused by the fencing when his grandmother’s caregiver pulled him back out of harm’s way. The farm said the area was clearly signposted that the animals should not be approached.
