5 Easy DIY Homemade Face Masks For Glowing Skin

While going to a spa is extremely rejuvenating for your skin, it is also a rather expensive affair. But do you always need to visit a spa to get spa-like treatment? What if I told you that you could have the same blissful experience without burning a hole in your pocket? Confused? Don’t be! For many years, we have used many home remedies for our skin, like honey that is a natural humectant and works towards restoring your skin’s health. Add a dash of lemon to it, and you have an exotic face mask that can help eliminate your skin troubles. Here are some more such brilliant face mask recipes that you can try at home:

1. Avocado-Honey Face Mask

Avocados are an excellent source of healthy fats that help moisturize your skin, and honey is  moisturizing as well, so if your skin is dry, your should try this face mask once every week. Mix 1/2 mashed avocado with 1/4 cup of uncooked oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients well and apply it onto your face. Leave it on for as long as you like, and wash it off with lukewarm water. Oatmeal acts as an exfoliator, and the vinegar and lemon juice brighten your complexion and remove bacteria from the surface of your skin.

2. Lemon & Honey Mask

Lemon is an effective astringent. It exfoliates your skin and helps remove dead cells that can also contribute towards breakouts. Mix 2 teaspoons of honey with 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice. Then, apply this mixture on your face and let it dry for 20-30 minutes. Gently rinse your face with lukewarm water and towel dry. You will notice that your face looks brighter and feels very soft. The lemon juice in the mixture also helps lighten dark spots and fade scars. Honey is a natural moisturizer, which explains the suppleness of your skin.

3. Honey & Cinnamon Face Pack

If you have oily and acne-prone skin, this face mask will suit you best.  Mix 3 teaspoons of raw honey with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and apply the paste on your face. Leave it on for 10-30 minutes and then gently wash it off. Both cinnamon and honey have antibacterial properties that prevent chances of infection. In case you have sensitive skin and want to try this remedy for your acne problems, be sure to do a patch test on your inner arm. Cinnamon can sometimes irritate your skin and must, hence, be used with caution. Do not use this mask in case the patch test causes rashes.

4. Oatmeal & Honey Mask

Besides oatmeal and honey, you will require a pot of freshly brewed chamomile tea. To this tea, add 1/4 cup of oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 drops of almond oil, and mix well. Apply this mask on your damp skin and let it dry for 7-10 minutes. Once dry, gently rinse it off with cold water. The heat from the tea will help open up your skin pores and remove the dirt and bacteria. Honey, on the other hand, helps moisturize your skin and keep it soft and supple. This face mask is an excellent remedy for skin care after makeup removal. You can also apply it after coming back from a long and tiring day at work. It will leave you feeling refreshed.

5. Aloe Vera & Honey

You know the myriad benefits of aloe vera and honey separately. But combine them together, and you have a superhero of skincare routines. Mix 2 teaspoons of raw honey with 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel. Then apply this goop onto your face. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe all rashes and irritations on your skin. Honey helps hydrate your skin and keeps it soft.
