Amano: IAEA continues verification of Iran’s nuclear commitments

IRNA – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is to continue its unbiased survey on Iran’s nuclear commitments to sound implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in line with the safeguard agreements, says the IAEA director general.

Speaking in the opening session of IAEA Board of Governors in Vienna on Monday, Yukiya Amano said that IAEA is to continue its verification to make sure non deviation of Iran’s nuclear materials which should be based on IAEA Safeguard agreement and assessment on non existence of such materials and undeclared nuclear activities will be underway.

Amano is to attend a press conference this afternoon at 14:30 Vienna local time.

Seasonal IAEA Board of Governors will be continued till Friday in which the latest reports delivered by Amano on monitoring of Iran nuclear programs will be examined.

The second report in the meeting will be about Iran nuclear related activities in 2017 themed “Verification and Monitoring of Iran’s nuclear program according to resolution UNSC 2231 which was released on Friday, June the 2nd, and was put at the disposal of IAEA Board of Governors.

The report once again underlines that Iran continues its peaceful nuclear activities within JCPOA accord.
