After becoming a sensation on the mobile gaming world, the popular iPhone App Angry Birds is now looking to swoop in to the kitchen.

A YouTube video by a user called mraakko has become an internet hit, showing an anonymous person making an Angry Birds level from gingerbread – with the birds and pigs constructed out of marzipan.

The incredible time-lapse video shows the game being given a sweet makeover – showing how the creator painstakingly makes gingerbread to construct levels from gingerbread and moulding the figures out of brightly-coloured marzipan.

The video, which is 3 minutes 23 seconds long, has been viewed by 105,734 people who have all been astounded by the intricate detail of the birds.

The make carefully slices up different coloured balls of marzipan, and rolls our the details – even down to black strips for the scowling eyebrows for the fierce feathered beings.

And the creator is so keen to make his sweet version realistic, he carefully assembles the scene and dramatically fires one of his marzipan red birds towards the pigs, before cutting to a shot of the collapsed gingerbread setting.

In the game, players use catapults to fire infuriated birds at pigs hiding inside buildings made of planks.

Made by Finnish entertainment media company Rovio, Angry Birds was released in 2009 and immediately became a worldwide phenomenon.

Over 12 million copies of the game has been purchased from Apple’s App Store and a combined 500 million downloads across all platforms.

And it seems that this fan has taken his love for the popular game, which sees users flinging birds at various structures in order to destroy ‘evil’ pigs, to the next level by creating this edible version.

The homemade video has gone viral on YouTube, with over 105,000 views since it was put up on December 23 and sparking hundreds of viewer comments.

A user called marlon55555marlon said: ‘nice video, so cute,’ while jaimepellicerocalvo added: ‘Amazing. A great way to spend time.’

And another user, dragosmihai91, offered the unknown video creator an idea for a future challenge with his comment: ‘That’s cool, but now you gotta make it out of ice cream sandwich.’

The popular game also picked up both the ‘Best Game App’ and ‘App of the Year’ gongs at the UK Appy Awards in April 2011.

The game is so popular, a film of the iPhone hit Angry Birds is in development, Rovio announced that 400 million people had downloaded the game.

Speaking at the Web 2.0 conference in San Francisco in October, Rovio also said
that Angry Birds is being played for 300 million minutes per day
worldwide.

Weeeheee! Grunt, snort!

People who are interested in baking, especially cupcakes, have long been making them!

Very clever! What patience too!

Iphone app my ass….. The DM seems to be an advertising platform for the iPhone. Angry birds is also available on Android.
Another thing, Android is supperiour to the apple system. Far superiour. And it runs flash.
DM are biased.

Angry Birds is still strong as a brand, but it has peaked as a game. There are more engaging games out there like “where’s my water?”

Classic!!!

Some people have waaaay too much time on their hands! Very good 🙂

haha love it!

You should see how obsessed people are with angry birds over here, cakes, shoes, shirts, you name it.

I’d rather the angry birds in my kitchen than that Jamie Oliver pillock any day of the week.
