Body guards forcefully removed the widow of an Army Ranger from Donald Rumsfeld’s book signing in Fort Lewis, Washington Friday after she confronted the former defense secretary about her husband’s death.

Ashley Joppa-Hagemann said that her husband, Staff Sgt. Jared Hagemann, had joined the military because he believed the “lies” Rumsfeld had told after the attacks of 9/11, according to press release from Coffee Strong, a veteran-owned, anti-war coffee house associated with the widow.

Joppa-Hagemann blamed Rumsfeld for her husband’s post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and eventual suicide. Jared Hagemann was scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan this month for the ninth time.

“[Rumsfeld] said, ‘Oh I heard about that,’” Joppa-Hagemann recalled to KCPQ-TV. “He didn’t say ‘him’ — he says ‘that.’”

Joint Base Lewis-McChord spokesman Bud McKay claimed that the Joppa-Hagemann, who was accompanied by anti-war veteran Jorge Gonzalez, was removed because she had caused a disruption.

“Two people were quietly and peacefully escorted out of the PX after they caused a disturbance at the book signing,” McKay told The News Tribune.

“If peacefully means being drug out by force, grabbing our arms and pushing us along the way,” Joppa-Hagemann explained to KOMO.

“All I could do was just really be happy at that moment that I got to tell Donald to his face that he was a liar and put a face to a soldier that because of him is no longer alive.”

  7. You could not pay me to buy that book.

  8. Yeah, it’s a shame, the Pentagon rushed to judgement to sucker enlistees into believing a lie. If the investigation into 9-11 went down for at least a year, their would not have been a rush to judgment and therefore, the criminals would have been caught for such a deadly deed of mayhem. That’s why we have courts and especially, the Supreme Court ! This is also why I want the congress to initiate wars, because it will only be awarded after strict investigation procedures warrants it’s execution !!!

Was that democracy you saw in the aftermath of 9-11 ? Stop and think ! It was the most corrupt nonsense of juries prudence imaginable to MAN !

  9. “[Rumsfeld] said, ‘Oh I heard about that,’” Joppa-Hagemann recalled to KCPQ-TV. “He didn’t say ‘him’ — he says ‘that.’”

No excuse to Rummy or his actions in the past but that was the correct response. He did not know the man personally.
