In response to his description by Conservative MP Nadine Dorries as an “arrogant posh boy”, Cameron stressed the importance of making “sure you stay in touch” with British voters as he insisted that he had been “doing the right job on behalf of the people of this country”.
“I think that not only are Cameron and Osborne two posh boys who don’t know the price of milk, but they are two arrogant posh boys who show no remorse, no contrition, and no passion to want to understand the lives of others – and that is their real crime”, said Dorries in an interview with BBC1’s Daily Politics.
However, speaking with BBC’s Nick Robinson, Cameron rejected the accusations as he responded with a sigh: “The government is having to do difficult things.”
Cameron is struggling to gain the trust of British voters as findings of recent polls show the Labour party is eight points ahead of the Tories.
Even Media Mogul Rupert Murdoch, whose 168-year-old newspaper News of the World was closed last July in Britain, described the coalition government’s economic, energy, education, and tax policies as “mad”.
In a series of messages sent via the Twitter website, Murdoch condemned the coalition government for planning to lend £10 billion to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) while introducing new tax on hot takeaway snacks.
