Australian survivors of the 2002 Bali bombings have come face to face with the man accused of building the bombs used in Indonesia’s deadliest terrorist attack.
The three Australian men, former North Melbourne AFL player Jason McCartney, Peter Hughes from Perth and Stuart Anstee from Tasmania, were in court yesterday as accused Umar Patek faced proceedings.
They have given evidence at his trial in Indonesia, where Patek once again denied any involvement.
It has been almost ten years since the bombings at nightclubs in Kuta which killed 202 people including 88 Australians.
Patek, also known as the Demolition Man, may face a firing squad if convicted of mass premeditated murder over the bombings.
