Austrian Minister: Claims of Russian Election Hacks are “Speculation”

Wow, this just keeps happening.

These people saying things that no one is ever supposed to say.

First it was a Belgian Minister saying that not turning the boats around is what’s causing Africans to drown, then it was a former French official saying NATO is only provoking Russia in order to justify it’s own existence – now the Austrian Interior Minister has come out and said that there is no evidence that Russia ever hacked any elections and it’s all just a wacky conspiracy theory based on baseless speculation.

It’s looking more and more like Europe has a very serious bad goyim problem.

Any of these statements could easily lead to a new Holocaust.

RT:

Austrian Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka says he sees no reason to believe that Moscow has attempted to influence Austria’s upcoming general election and doubts reports that Russia has done so in other countries.

The allegations of election hacking “were never proven and are only speculation,” he said, adding “they are similar to other speculations throughout history, like what we would find in Iraq, or what would happen in Syria or Libya. There were speculations, but they didn’t come true.”

You know he had to bit his tongue to not say “lampshades and soap.”

Sobotka’s remarks came in an interview with O1 radio’s ‘Morning Journal’ program just after he returned from a two-day visit to Russia. He said that the issue of the allegations of Russian “hacking of elections” in the West was never raised during talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

He added that he believed Russia had no reason to target Austria’s general election, which is scheduled for October 15, as doing so would be pointless in terms of advancing Moscow’s global goals.

Even saying that is giving in, in my opinion, given that the entire argument being used by the US government is “they would have wanted Trump to win so why wouldn’t they have hacked the election? It’s common sense.”

“Motive equals guilt” is a type of “justice” that wouldn’t even fly in some primitive African village 10,000 years ago.

But it works for Comey, Schiff and the boys.

“We are not an international player in the affairs of the Middle East or in Libya. So there was never intention from the Russian side to influence anything on the Austrian side,” the minister said.

“We are a major hub [for Russian trade] and Russia has always treated us very, very carefully,” he added.

Sobotka added that Austrian law enforcement has a well-established mechanism for fighting cybercrime and, if anyone tried to hack an Austrian institution, such an attack would be detected and dealt with.

Russia has been accused of trying to influence the elections of several Western countries, including the US, the UK, France, and Germany, although no tangible proof has been presented to back those claims. Moscow has repeatedly denied the accusations.

Before Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World, died, he wrote a book called “Brave New World Revisted.” In it, he commented on George Orwell’s 1984, a dystopian novel published 17 years after his own and giving a very different vision of a nightmare future (just to be clear on the time frame here, BNW was 1931, 1984 was 1948 and BNW revisited was 1958). In it, he predicted that the future would be a mix of the two nightmares. There would be the drugged-out, unthinking populace of BNW existing alongside the brutal surveillance police state of 1984.

He was right.

The fact that these governments are getting away to any extent at all with this “Russia is hacking us” narrative in every single Western country, without ever even pretending to have evidence, is proof of the Brave New World aspect of our modern reality.

It goes like this:

Government: Russia is hacking our democracy.

Skeptic: How though?

Government: We don’t know.

Skeptic: Then how do you know they are doing it?

Government: Because they would want to do it.

Skeptic: Why though?

Government: Because they’re trying to fuck with us.

Skeptic: Why are they trying to fuck with us though?

Government: They are genetically predisposed to it.

Skeptic: Well, um…

Government: You have to go to prison.

It is not hyperbole to say that this is a hyper-malicious redux of Waiting for Godot.

Honestly, I could literally rewrite that play as “Waiting for Russian Hackers” if I had two straight days off work on this site. It would write itself.

I hate Samuel Beckett, and believe him to have been a soulless, uninspired and uninspiring hack, who contributed greatly to the collapse of Western civilization by marketing nonsense as meaning – but I feel the exact same way about Europe and America. So it would work beautifully.
