Baby giraffe arrives at Taronga Zoo

Sydneysiders keen to catch a glimpse of royalty could have been forgiven for thinking Charles and Camilla were paying a visit to Taronga Zoo.

In fact, the Royal couple are arriving in Sydney tonight and the police motorcade and flashing camera lights earlier today were for the zoo’s newest resident, Kitoto the baby giraffe.

The two-year-old female made her grand entrance to Taronga after being transferred from Dubbo Zoo.

Kitoto’s three new mates Jimiyu, Nyota and Zarafa have already introduced themselves, briefly poking their heads into the giraffe house where Kitoto will stay in isolation overnight, before an official introduction goes ahead tomorrow.
