The poll for the Sun newspaper found that the Prime Minister’s rating has fallen eight points over the past fortnight as the government struggled with the cash-for-access scandal, Budget fallout and the fuel crisis.
Only 30 percent of respondents said Cameron would “make the best PM” of the three main party leaders, but neither Ed Miliband, the opposition Labour party chief nor Nick Clegg, the head of the Liberal Democrats party gained in the ratings either, according to the poll.
David Cameron’s rating has dived 8 points in a fortnight, after rows over donors, fuel, pasties and the Budget.
Meanwhile, Ed Miliband has failed to take advantage too. Only 19 percent said he would make the best PM, up just one point in the last two weeks. Besides, only five percent thought Nick Clegg would be the best PM, down one point.
Forty-six percent said they “don’t know” who would make the best PM – the highest figure since May 2010.
Labour is on 42 percent – 10 points ahead of the Tories. The Lib Dems are on 9 percent, just one point ahead of the UK Independence Party.
