Chinese government struggles to restore hacked websites

On a Twitter account, Anonymous China took credit for the hacks, and listed
details of its actions.

“China and all World we are just getting started,” said one message.

It is not the first time that a branch of Anonymous has targeted China. In
September, Anonymous Analytics, which aims to expose corporate fraud,
accused Chaoda Modern Agriculture, a fruit and vegetable grower, of “deceit
and open corporate fraud”.

In addition, a hacker named Hardcore Charlie, who said he was a friend of
Hector Xavier Monsegur, the leader-turned-informant of the activist hacking
group, LulzSec, told Reuters he got inside Beijing-based China National
Import Export Corp (CEIEC). CEIEC’s website says the company performs
systems integration work for the Chinese military.
