Former deputy leader of Sunderland City Council, Florence Anderson was spotted to have liked the message that the next Conservative party conference should be targeted by the Irish Republican Army (IRA) dissident group members.
“These comments are disgraceful. Florence Anderson has been suspended from the Labour Party with immediate effect in light of this information,” the Northern Echo quoted a party spokesman as saying.
This comes as Anderson had precedence as she hoped back in October 2010 when she was the Sunderland City Council deputy leader, that former Tory Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher “burn in hell.”
At the time, she made the comment in a thread on the Facebook page “Stop Margaret Thatcher getting royal send off.”
This is while, Dave Hopper, a member of the Durham Miners Gala said Thatcher, and her Tory party, is hated by many locals in the North East region of England due to her policies in the 1980’s that led to massive social unrest including the 1984-85 miner’s strike.
“Bombing is a little bit severe … There wouldn’t be much sympathy if things like that did happen,” Hopper who is also the general secretary of the Durham Miners Association said.
“Thatcher did more damage to our communities than the Germans did to us from 1939 to 1945,” he added.
