Seismologist John Rundle joined Kelly on her show and confirmed that the Washington Monument could very well be tilting as a result of the earthquake and the structure should be checked out.

The quake’s epicenter was in Mineral, Virginia, southwest of DC, in the middle of Virginia. The magnitude was 5.9, according to USGS — they upgraded that from an initial reading of 5.8.

Apparently there were tremors felt as far away as Martha’s Vineyard, Detroit and parts of Ohio. That’s a really wide area of impact for a relatively small quake.

It was very shaky, it was also strange because people on ground levels of buildings didn’t feel it. They only felt “dizzy” but if you were on the 2nd floor or above ….. OH boy did you feel it !! I cant believe people are still so paranoid about 9/11 that they thought an earthquake was a terrorist attack, I mean if our government was going to stage another terror attack they would at least wait until the anniversary of 9/11 to do it. I cant wait to see how many religous nut-cases come out of the woodwork spewing judgement day premonitions.

“God’s Will” can always explain the unexplainable, and soothe the common mind. Superstition has romanced our imagination since the begining. Most find comfort in the power of imagined Gods running the show. The self wants meaning; that there is more to death than worm food. The wise find comfort knowing the end is the end. Why pollute discussions of otherwise plasuable theories with weak and fantastic dogma. Once you accept a reality based on faith, your mind is now conditioned to believe whatever your TV (government) wants you to… on faith. Therin lays the harm in a “Gods Will” belief structure.
