In a change from world fairs of the past, Dubai’s Expo 2020 is relying heavily on technology, rather than on physical wonders.

When visitors enter different pavilions, they’re surrounded by visual displays, 3D mappings, or interactive installations.

Some pavilions use art to highlight the possibilities of technology.

Dubai’s Expo 2020—delayed by a year due to the coronavirus pandemic—opened earlier this month on Oct. 1. It’s set to run until March 31, 2022.
