Father arrested for stealing video games from hospital

A man was caught and arrested after he stole video game consoles from a hospital, meant for entertainment of sick children.

The father from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was jailed after he allegedly broke into a hospital storage room and stole several game consoles during a visit of his 5-year-old son in the hospital.

36-year-old, Jim Skursky, was at the hospital visiting his son who had recently underwent surgery and was recovering at the hospital.

According to police, the 5-year old boy was playing with a lighter when his shirt caught on fire and he was badly burned.

The child was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he was treated for severe burns on the chest, back, arms and neck. The boy reportedly underwent surgery to repair some of the damage.

Investigators said that Skursky, was visiting his son in the hospital, when he broke a metal cabinet and stole a Wii, Playstation and Xbox games, as well as several game controllers, placing most of the items in a black garbage bag.

Hospital staff contacted police after realizing that the hospital game consoles were missing and they also saw a game controller in Skursky’s pocket.

Skursky was booked into the Allegheny County Jail. He was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
