Five NATO oil tankers burned in Pakistan

On Wednesday, armed masked men riding on motorcycles in the Dhadar area of the city Sibbi set ablaze the five tankers, which were bound for the US-led foreign forces stationed in neighboring Afghanistan.

During the incident, a NATO truck driver was injured and later taken to a local hospital.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident, and the attackers managed to flee from the scene before the security forces reached the site.

Pakistan has experienced unrelenting violence since the country joined an alliance with the United States in Washington’s so-called war on terror.

Thousands of people have subsequently lost their lives in bombings and other attacks. The violence has seen a sharp rise since late 2009.

In one of the deadliest days in Pakistan over the past few years, more than 120 people lost their lives on January 10 in separate bombings in Quetta and the northwestern Swat valley district.
