A Florida woman was arrested for drawing a picture of a bomb and writing the word “Boom” on her friend’s suitcase, prompting an evacuation of Miami International Airport.
Danisa Landaeta, 30, was charged with criminal mischief and for planting a fake bomb, officials said.
Landaeta admitted to scrawling the threats as a prank on her friend, who was at the Miami airport to catch a flight to Venezuela Tuesday afternoon.

It would be the owner of the suitcase who should decide if that mischief was criminal or not.
Seeing as the picture will likely come off with a solvent, I would say it was not.

I think the lady was successful because she was invoking a reponse and she got one! Unforunately for the friend she had to be delayed with her travel because TSA is an ignorant bunch. Meanwhile, the New Mexico cop who was caught having sex on the hood of a car, in public, while on duty, will not be charged. The story was just updated on Drudge.
There was a story of a guy who was “having sex’ with an inflatable raft in an alley. He was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and other offenses. Funny how this cop manages to evade all charges for something much more egregious.
Must be nice to be above the law.

I’m sorry, but that (drawing a bomb on a suitcase) is just dumb.
but criminal?
Probably for the criminal mischief charge. It’s certainly not the equivalent of planting a fake bomb, but could be equated to making a vague threat (similar to shouting “fire” in a movie theater).
Using that definition, it seems that this same charge be levied on the artist who painted the Chase bank on fire, no?
