A MAN suffered life threatening injuries when he fell from the bonnet of a moving car in Geelong on Friday night.

Earlier the man and the 37-year-old male driver of the car had an argument at the intersection of Gaylard Avenue and Aberdeen Street, Newtown, at about 7pm.

When the driver attempted to leave in the car, the other man jumped on the bonnet.

When the car hit a gutter he was thrown off and suffered an open head wound.

Paramedics treated the heavily bleeding man at the scene before moving him to Geelong Hospital in a serious condition.

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was killed when he was hit by a motorcycle as he tried to cross a road in Springvale, in Melbourne’s south-east, at about 5.30pm (AEDT) yesterday.

The state’s road toll now stands at 262, one ahead of the same time last year.
