French government announces plan to teach wolves not to kill sheep

(Scroll down for video) With the growing problem of wolves eating sheep, the French government decided it has to do something to stop the situation.
In an attempt to crack down on the number of wolf attacks on farm animals, the French government announced a plan to try to “educate” the wild animals, according to reports.
There are an estimated 250 wolves in France. The wolves kill the local sheep. The government usually compensates farmers for the dead sheep, which ended up costing taxpayers a whopping $3 million last year alone.
To save money, the French government will be conducting a rather strange experiment where they hope to educate the wolves not to kill sheep.
Under the proposed “National Wolf Plan,”, the government will try to get the wolf to despise the sheep, thereby not wanting to kill them.
Wild wolves that are known to attack local farm animals will be captured and placed in cages. After a while they will be marked and let go.
According to reports, the theory is that the animal will be so traumatized by the experience of being captured and held captive, that it will leave the sheep alone and instead hunt for deer, wild boar and other wildlife.
But if the wolves don’t learn their lesson and they continue being a problem to farmers, then the identification marks which were made while being captive will make it easier to spot and kill them.
