GAZA, (PIC)– Canadian solidarity activists announced their readiness to sail from the port of Gaza via Canadian “Gaza’s Ark” boat to the outside world, within the efforts to break the siege imposed on Gaza.

This came during a press conference organized in Gaza on Thursday evening by the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, in cooperation with the Palestinian Association for fishing and marine sports, and with the presence of Canadian solidarity activists.

David Hip, a Canadian activist, said during the conference that “Gaza’s Ark” boat will carry 17 solidarity activists from several countries, and will try to break the naval blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, from inside the Gaza Sea.

He also stressed that the Palestinian issue is not negotiable and that Gaza’s Ark boat is not an aid project, but rather aims to protecting the constants.

David pointed out that “Gaza’s Ark” had previously tried to sail from Greece and Turkey but was prevented.

For his part, Haidar Eid, the member of the Steering Committee of the Palestinian campaign for Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, stated that the Gaza’s Ark built this boat in Gaza in an attempt to break the naval blockade imposed by the occupation on the Strip.

The boat will sail from Gaza towards the outside world, carrying Palestinian products and goods to fulfill trade deals with international buyers, added Haidar.
