Animal rights groups said they are prepared to take action and rescue the
sheep if the men push ahead with the beheading plans, but so far remain
unconvinced by the veracity of the artists’ claims.
“I can’t imagine that the animal will actually be killed,” said Bernd Hoffman,
from PETA, an animal welfare organisation. “Artists often try to sock with
such provocative actions. Sometimes they use the internet to have
life-and-death polls.”
