In the battle across social media between Islamic State (IS) and hackers, the group Ghost Security Group (GSG) have shown that fighting terrorism can be an amusing job.

GSG have replaced IS propaganda online with an advert for Prozac.

The site now reads: “Too Much ISIS. Enhance your calm. Too many people are into this ISIS-stuff. Please gaze upon this lovely ad so we can upgrade our infrastructure to give you ISIS content you all so desperately crave.”

Ironically, GSG directs users to CoinRX, a digital drugstore that proudly declares they are “the number one bitcoin online pharmacy”.

CoinRX sells everything from Xanax to Viagra without the purchaser needing a prescription.

On the flip side, the hactivist group Anonymous has declared war on the Islamic State (IS). Their strategy involves taking down IS “linked” social media accounts.

On Pastbin, they have recently released a list of over 20, 000 accounts the group has disabled; however some of the Twitter accounts claimed to be IS related are the official account of President Barack Obama and the news organization BBC News.

Other mentionable on the list include:

• @HillaryClinton
• @StateDept
• @nytimes

It might come as a shock to know that most of the social media accounts mentioned on the list have not been disabled. To counter this fact, Anonymous said that “some accounts may be put back up by Twitter. IF the accounts are back up REPORT them.”

A spokesperson for Twitter said the list published by Anonymous is “wildly inaccurate” and intimates that “academics and journalists” who are not tied to IS are somehow affiliated with the terrorist group.
