What I remember about Castellammare di Stabia in Italy –

Young lads threw stones at me.

The police advised me to go elsewhere in Italy.

Castellammare is famous for being a base of the Mafia group known as the Camorra.

‘An explosion occurred inside the Police Station of Castellammare di Stabia.

‘In 2016, two Van Gogh paintings, stolen from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in 2002, were recovered in a villa in Castellammare di Stabia, owned by Raffaele Imperiale, 46, a boss of the Naples-based Camorra organisation.

‘Castellammare is run down and littered with rubbish.The station and port are 10 min walk away from the Hotel Stabia, (used by Saga holidays.)”The beach – well lets just say nobody was using it, probably one of the worst beaches I’ve seen.’
