How to check if the authorities compromised your smartphone

In today’s day and age many people do no take seriously their privacy and security with regards to their smartphone.

This is especially true when attending a rally or mass gathering.

In order to obtain information about you, authorities or NGOs (Non Government Organisations) can use a ‘stingray’ like device or IMSI catcher or portable cell tower base station to obtain information from your phone about you.

These type of attacks are called Man In The Middle (MITM) attacks.

One way check if your (Android) smart phone communications have been compromised is via an app called Privacy Cell, being available through f-droid.org.

This is only available to those who have Android 11 and upwards.

If you are not running Android 11, you can still catch the ‘man in the middle’ via another app called Catch the Man-in-the-Middle by Braxmobile,
