In 1 Week, 3 jewish Actors Separately Pretend to be White and Criticize Whites for Existing

January 27, 2020: The Guardian interviews Jewish actor David Schwimmer (Friends) who says “I’m very aware of my own privilege as a heterosexual white male whose parents were able to pay for a private education for me. I’ve always felt a sense of responsibility to give back and to call things out if I see an abuse of power.”

January 31, 2020: Adidas interviews Jewish actor Jonah Hill (21 Jump Street) regarding their new partnership and the recent commercial he directed for them. He calls for white men to relinquish their power and for the film industry to rid itself of white men. He argues that it’s unfair for white men to continue to have the voice they’ve had. He says “And if I step aside because of that, then that’s dope too.”

February 2, 2020: Accepting his Baftas award, Jewish actor Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) criticized the all-white acting nominations. He says “I also feel conflicted – we send a very clear message to people of colour that ‘you’re not welcome here’. I don’t think anybody wants a handout or preferential treatment. People just want to be acknowledged and appreciated and respected for their work. I’m ashamed to say that I’m part of the problem.”
