Awake Goy We’ve written about Russell Brand several times on our website, and that’s because he is one celebrity, on an ever-growing list of stars, who is using his tremendous reach in an effort to effect positive change in the world, as well as raise awareness about several key issues that are currently facing our planet. One of these issues is ‘terrorism.’ Brand explains:
“The only power we have on a personal level is loving tolerance, and a continued suspicion of both our media, and of our politicians, who have their own ends. The media just wanna create stories and tacitly support the corporations that benefit from wars in foreign countries because they are the corporations that benefit from those wars.”
What Russell is saying is not new, and it’s a viewpoint that is shared by many people around the world. His comments regarding the media — how they fabricate stories in order to support and justify foreign infiltration of other countries, and how the people spreading these messages are the very same ones orchestrating these events — resonate with many:
“[You might be thinking] this is the time for grieving and mourning. No, this is the perfect time to start looking at why do things like this keep happening, and what can we on a personal level … actually do? There are violent people on both sides of this ideology and they are exacerbating it, and we, the people in the middle, have got to stop supporting them.”
But just because Russell Brand says something doesn’t mean we should immediately take his word for it. We must never blindly accept information given to us, including that which is presented in this article. It is our ethical, personal, and civic obligation to research things for ourselves and arrive at an informed opinion, and clearly that is what Brand has done. If you are concerned about these events, like the recent attacks in Paris, it should serve as motivation to do some digging of our own.

As Brand states in the video above, this is a perfect time to start looking at what is going on here. It’s becoming less of a secret that the government, intelligence agencies, or ‘powers that be’ are involved in these attacks, and that awareness is a good thing. We’ve seen this with Al-Qaeda, and we could be seeing it with ISIS as well.

Usually, the opposing view comes from corporate media, and the unfortunate reality is that people tend to believe things they see on television, whether or not it’s factual, or biased, or driven by a particular agenda. It’s best to stick to the evidence, rather than believe without questioning what the media is telling you.
