A 20-year-old man was killed early this morning after the car he was driving was involved in a head-on collision in Melbourne’s west.
Two vehicles collided on Farnsworth Avenue in Footscray about 1.30am.
The 20-year-old died at the scene, while the driver of the second vehicle, a 50-year-old St Leonards man, was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
An infant passenger in the second vehicle was not injured, but was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
“The child was taken in for observation but was in a very stable condition,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said.
Victoria’s road toll now stands at 115, compared with 119 at the same time last year.
