(Scroll down for video) Brooklyn College caused uproar after holding an anti-Israel event on its college campus. The Jewish community became even more angry after several Jewish students were evicted from the event, according to press reports in New York.
Now, City University officials are investigating why the four Jewish students were expelled from the controversial anti-Israel forum sponsored by the Brooklyn College.
Campus police evicted graduate student Ari Ziegler, 23, and three colleagues from last week’s event, which presented the founder of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel movement.
Ziegler, his brother, Michael, his friends Melanie Goldberg and Yvonne Juris, were expelled after presenting pro Israel brochures.
“If this were true, it was wrong and we need to understand exactly what the circumstances were,” CUNY Chancellor Matthew Goldstein said.
University officials are also investigating why members of the media were barred from the forum. The investigation will be led by the top lawyer of CUNY, Frederick Schaffer, and an independent consultant, who will report their findings to Goldstein.
