IR : Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has expressed optimism over a final agreement with the six major powers on Tehran’s nuclear energy program, saying it will be beneficial to all.
President Rouhani noted that all sides of the ongoing talks with Iran have come to the conclusion that threats and sanctions are not the solution to the nuclear dispute and that political negotiations are the only way forward.
“We believe that if the P5+1 countries have the necessary determination in this regard, it will be possible to reach a final deal within the time frame set for the implementation of the interim agreement,” Rouhani said, adding, “This agreement will be absolutely beneficial to both sides, the region and the world because Iran currently holds a sensitive regional position and cannot be isolated with its rich resources and great history and civilization.”
The Iranian chief executive once again reaffirmed the peaceful and legal nature of the country’s nuclear activities, stating, “It will be possible to reach the final agreement within the framework of regulations and with the two sides’ goodwill.”
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani also said terrorism is a “great danger” to the entire Middle East, urging all regional countries to make serious efforts to counter terrorism and establish peace and stability.
The president called for the adoption of necessary strategies to allay concerns about security along the Iran-Pakistan border.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran regards Pakistan’s security and peace as being in line with its own peace and security,” Rouhani said.
He added that Tehran and Islamabad enjoy great capacities to strengthen economic cooperation and emphasized that Iran seeks to establish cordial relations with all its neighboring countries.
“Interaction between the two countries’ officials can certainly create new conditions for the expansion of all-out Tehran-Islamabad relations,” the Iranian president pointed out.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has also hailed “strong” bilateral relations between Iran and Russia in various areas, saying Tehran-Moscow ties are beneficial to the entire region.
President Rouhani said Iran and Russia enjoy good political and economic relations and stressed that bilateral ties between Tehran and Moscow are “in the interest of the two nations and the entire region.”
“Strong political ties in bilateral, regional and international domains, along with vast economic relations between the two countries, set the stage for the promotion of peace and stability,” stated the Iranian president.
The Iranian chief executive further called for closer economic cooperation between Iran and Russia, adding, “The political will of both sides can lead to all-out expansion of relations…and commercial exchanges between the two countries.”
President Rouhani also expressed hope that the meetings of the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission can further bolster interactions between the two countries.
