Beijing, May 16, IRNA – Iran and South Korea are willing to expand cooperation on environment as per a memorandum of understanding.
The MoU will be signed on Tuesday by Iranian Vice-President and head of Department of Environment (DoE) Masoumeh Ebtekar and her South Korean counterpart Yoon Seongkyu in Seoul.
South Korean Ministry of Environment announced that the MoU envisaged holding joint seminars and conferences and cooperation on management of pollutants, protection of environment, air pollution, irrigations, water resources pollution and eco-system of wetlands.
IRNA reporter in Beijing said that Iran and South Korean officials will discuss exchange of experts and information as well.
He said that Ms. Ebtekar was introduced by the UN Environment Program as one of seven leaders who played key role in promoting environment program in the world.
Ebtekar is to arrive in Seoul on Monday evening on the head of a delegation.
