Iran’s Rezaei denies having order to liberate Syria’s Aleppo

Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Friday, the former IRGC chief categorically denied stories spread by foreign media outlets that he has received an order to recapture Syria’s Reef Aleppo from the Takfiri terrorist groups.

Rezaei, however, noted that he has worn green fatigues to provide whatever assistance he can.

Asked about the time for liberation of Aleppo in his estimation, the senior official said it will not be an easy job since the northern Syrian city is connected to the Turkish territory from two sides, making it easy for the terrorists controlling the city to receive arms and support.

“Nevertheless, Aleppo will be liberated by God’s grace,” he underlined.

Iran, a close ally of Syria, has been supporting the legitimate Syrian government in the fight against terrorists.

Tehran has repeatedly made it clear that its assistance to Syria is confined to consultation and advisory help.

Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with government forces fighting an assortment of militant groups, including the Daesh (ISIL) terrorists.
