Palestinian sources said that the Israeli occupation forces raided Duma Village in the West Bank city of Nablus and kidnapped 13 Palestinian citizens, including Wissam Dawabsha.
Wissam is the brother of Riham Dawabsha, who was killed along with her husband and 18-month-old infant in an arson attack at their home carried out by Israeli Jewish settlers last year.
Meanwhile, witnesses said that the Israeli occupation forces arrested a number of Hamas members, including the senior leader Adnan Asfour, who is a lecturer at Al-Najah University.
The Israeli occupation confirmed the kidnappings, claiming that all of the Palestinians included in this “security operation” were involved in “hostile” activities against the Israeli authorities.
Such kidnappings, carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, are conducted almost every day. The Palestinians do not know what is the criteria that the Israeli occupation forces adopt when they enlist them for kidnappings.
According to the Israeli Prison Service (IPS), as of 31 January 2016, there were 7,766 Palestinians, from the occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
Military Court Watch said that 423 Palestinian children are included in this number, noting that most of the prisoners are being held in Israeli facilities in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
