Israeli forces open fire at Palestinian boy in Ramallah

Israeli occupation forces opened fire, wounded on Monday evening 13-year-old Palestinian boy in occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.

Local sources said that the Palestinian boy threw stones at Israeli soldiers and military vehicles in the area of the village of Deir Nidham.

Responding to the 13-year-old boy’s stones, the Israeli occupation forces shot live ammunition, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas all around the location of the boy.

The 13-year-old, who was identified as Jihad al-Tamimi, was shot in the foot with live ammunition and evacuated to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah for treatment.

Rights groups have routinely condemned the Israeli occupation for its excessive use of force against Palestinians, including minors, during protests and incidents which could have been handled without the use of potentially lethal violence.

According to UN documentations, the Israeli occupation forces have injured 397 Palestinians so far in 2017. Meanwhile, they wounded 3,393 Palestinians in 2016.
