Israeli navy shot, wound Palestinian off Gaza coast

Israeli occupation navy has shot and wounded Palestinian youth off the northern Gaza coast, Palestinian medical source said.

The sources said that the 19-year-old youth, was sailing off the coast of Beit Lahiya when the Israeli naval forces opened fire on his boat.

According to them Palestinian medical sources, the youth was wounded in his leg, noting that his injury was moderate.

Israeli occupation forces carry out such attack against Palestinian fishermen in the sea and farmers in their farms almost every day.

Since 2007, the Israeli occupation has been imposing a strict siege on the Gaza Strip, preventing the entrance of basic materials, food, medical supplies and electricity.

Al-Mezan Centre for Human Rights reported in May that since the beginning of the year, Israel had seized five fishing boats, abducted 14 Palestinian fishermen, shot and injured four, while two fisherman had been killed.
