Awake Goy Israeli occupation navy shot and wounded on Sunday night two Palestinian fishermen who were fishing off the coast of Khan Yunis in the south of Gaza Strip.
Spokesman for the health ministry in Gaza Ashraf al-Qidra said the two fishermen were evacuated to Nasser Medical Centre in Khan Yunis for treatment.
Al-Qidra said that both of the fishermen were shot in their feet, noting that they are currently in stable conditions.
Palestinian security sources identified the two fishermen as Ibrahim al-Jahjouh and Khader abu-Shammala.
As part of the Israeli blockade of the coastal enclave since mid-2007, the Israeli occupation forces, citing security concerns, require Palestinian fishermen to work within a limited fishing zone.
The exact limits of this fishing zone are decided by the Israeli authorities and have historically fluctuated.
Regularly, the Israeli occupation forces kidnap and open fire at unarmed Palestinian fishermen, shepherds and farmers along the border areas if they approach the unilaterally declared buffer zones.
In May, Israeli forces shot and killed an unarmed Palestinian fisherman, Mohamed Majid Bakr, off Gaza’s coast.
