Days of Palestine, Jerusalem –Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he “supports settlements all the time,” promising to return evicted settlers in West Bank city of Al-Khalil back to stolen Palestinian homes.

During the Sunday meeting of his cabinet, Netanyahu said: “I support settlements and will accelerate the examination of paperwork, which is needed to return the Jewish settlers evicted from the stolen Palestinian houses in Al-Khalil back.”

He added: “The moment that the purchase process is authorised, we will allow the Jewish settlers of the two houses in Al-Khalil to return back.”

“The process of checking is starting today,” he added. “We will do it as quickly as possible. If, in any case, it is not completed within a week, I will see to it that the cabinet receives a status report.”

On Thursday, illegal Israeli Jewish settlers squatted two Palestinian houses in Al-Khalil. After Palestinian protests, the Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon ordered them be forcefully evicted, promising to sort out the issue as soon as possible.

It is worth mentioning that the number of the illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied Palestinian West Bank has increased up to around 700,000 in recent years.
