Israeli police abduct defender of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Israeli occupation police abducted on Tuesday at dawn prominent Al-Aqsa Mosque defender Sheikh Raed Salah from home in Umm al-Fahem.

Sheikh Salah is the leader of the Islamic Movement in occupied Palestine (Israel) and he has been the most prominent courageous defender of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He has always disclosed the Israeli violations and secret plans to judaise Jerusalem and the holy site in the Old City.

The Israeli police claimed: “Salah was arrested and interrogated on suspicion of inciting acts of terror and supporting an unlawful organization.”

He was arrested following a joint investigation between police and the Shin Bet, which was conducted at the behest of Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, it added.

According to the statement, since the Islamic movement was outlawed, Salah spoke to the public and published a series of statement in the media regarding the movement’s views.

Salah’s Islamic Movement was outlawed by Israeli occupation in 2015. Ever since, Israeli authorities abducted Salah several times and shut down dozens of charities related to his movement.

The Israeli occupation, meanwhile, has prohibited Sheikh Salah, who is seen as an icon of the Palestinian resistance, from traveling outside the country for reasons allegedly related to “national security.”
